Episode 26: Using Music to Defy Boundaries as a Menopause Outlaw | Belinda Huesman
TUNE IN: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY | STITCHER
Musicians and aspiring songwriters, this episode is for you! Belinda Huesman, Singer/Songwriter, Author and Business Owner, wife, mom, sister, and friend shares how she fell in love with music and why she refers to herself as the Menopause Outlaw!!
The M.O. Network, short for Menopause Outlaws, was a tongue-in-cheek term that came from a writing project after Belinda moved to Nashville. She was told it was a very niche market in writing for her demographic and pitching her songs. However, Belinda continued writing songs that helped her find the deep well within herself to help rescue the little girl she left behind and become the hero of her own story. Now her mission is to outlaw ageism through the power of story and song. It is her desire to use her gift of encouragement through the universal language of music to create connection, conversation, and community and service to women by providing resources for women to defy boundaries, age fearlessly, and connect their passion to their purpose.
I’m such a fan of music, so I am so thrilled to have my first singer/songwriter on the podcast! We talked about when her love for music began, how Menopause Outlaws came about, fighting ageism in the music industry, her new wine collection (which you can find by clicking here!), and more!
The work she does is so inspiring and important. I hope you enjoy this conversation!
