In today’s episode, I have the amazing Muneerah Dubidat joining me! Muneerah helps confident, high-achieving women who know their worth, change their unhealthy dating patterns, and attract the love & connection they deserve!
I love what Muneerah does, I love her work and I think it’s so important for women to take power in their dating world. So often men start the relationship off and we want to show that women can be empowered too, to get the ball moving.
As Muneerah says, “It’s all about being comfortable and confident in who you are and being comfortable with taking those first steps.”
Muneerah shares how she became a dating coach and what being in a tumultuous relationship taught her. Self-love is what allowed her to see that she was in a toxic relationship, and is where every healthy relationship should start.
It took her time to realize that her wants and needs are just as important as the other persons. Being a people pleaser, someone with low self-esteem, being a mom, you naturally put yourself and your needs at the bottom of the to-do list. Her first step was understanding that her needs were just as valuable as anybody else’s and she COULD speak up.
As she learned to love herself and grew in self-love, self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence, she realized she couldn’t be the only woman who suffered from lacking all of these things. In spite of that, she built herself up and then found she struggled with dating….. became more selective, etc.
Going out there and dating from this new space inspired her to help other women do the same.
A lot of the women she works with have the same fears and things that come up that she had experienced. They want to be people-pleasers and cater to everybody else’s needs causing them to then get taken advantage of which causes them to build this wall around them that nobody or no love can get inside.
So her work teaches women how to be vulnerable again but with the right person.
We also talk about being a parent while dating, the 5 love languages and how those are woven into her work, and the expectations so many people place on their date.
