Episode 34: Learn How to Identify and Reduce Your Burnout

TUNE IN: APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY | STITCHER

Today, I want to talk to you about burnout.

I have experienced my fair share of burnout. Burnout is very common and I think we tend to wear burnout as a badge of honor.

But, we really need to reevaluate our priorities. Do we want to be running around every day of the week, or do we need to pause, take some time to breathe, and find some inner peace?

For me, that was the case.

Burnout can come in phases and in different portions of our lives. I have clients going through burnout because they have a child and a job, and then some are transitioning into a new job, which is time consuming as well. It’s imperative to identify and then relax into knowing that this is temporary!

What exactly is burnout? Well, you can get this because it’s a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress.

In today’s episode, I’m going to share with you one of the times I really burnt myself out.

I was coaching at my first job, in a big gym. I was new and trying to learn everything in sales, create a management schedule for myself, I was reading self-help books, going to different fitness networking events, and trying to learn as much as I could. The more I trained people though, was when I reaped the benefits. So all the things can be overwhelming!

I encourage you to focus on one thing. You can make your to-do list but you don’t have to do it all in one day. You can do it over the span of a week, a month, but choose things that will add value to your work now, to your life now. Never settle, but acknowledge where you are.
