Spring Cleaning
Spring Cleaning
It’s that time of the year again where the weather is getting warmer outside but your house is a mess. Don’t put off the task of cleaning, take it head on to make way for the new. I’m a strong believer that your home environment impacts your happiness.
In order to clean house ask yourself which of the following mess makers do you resonate with today: Sentimental Savers or Closet Stuffers.
Sentimental Savors
Keeps everything from the past including clothes, old kid drawings/paintings, accessories, and books/photo albums.
Regarding clothes and accessories question if you’ll wear it? Does it make you feel confident? Is it in good condition?
Old kid drawings, paintings, art stored away: Would you want to display it in your house again?
Books/photo albums: Will you read it again? Where can you store these photos in your house?
Ask what’s more important to you: Photos or things?
Donate anything in good condition!
Let go...make room for new art that inspires you and clothes/accessories that leave you feeling body positive.
Closet Stuffers
This particular group places plenty of papers, newspapers, magazines, recipes, receipts in drawers and eventually the mess is so big that it’s left out in plain sight on tables and shelves.
Organize your papers & receipts into a big binder.
If it’s over 10 years old chances are you do not need to keep it anymore.
Throw out loose papers & expired coupons
Buy a rack for your magazines and newspapers you haven’t had time to read.
Create one drawer that’s specifically for your mess and check in every month to clean it out.
